3. PSC is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization with a mission to build a healthy pipeline of talent in Penang and Malaysia by sparking interest in science and technology, creating a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among our young in Penang and Malaysia. 4. PSC inspires students through hands-on, inquiry-based science and technology programs. PSC supports 140 schools in our TechMentor Lego Robotics, Embedded Systems, Coding and Radio Astronomy programs with 150+ volunteer mentors from industry, coupled with a loan of hardware and software purchased through the generosity of sponsors. All the programs are free to schools. 5. PSC organizes Penang International Science Fair (PISF), a premier science and technology exhibition held annually with the participation of industry to showcase technologies from industry, educate and inspire students. Around 60,000 attendees participated in our PISF each year. 6. PSC encourages and supports the establishment of science cafes in population centers and Maker Labs in schools in Penang to promote the learning of STEM subjects in a fun and hands-on approach and to support the growth of the maker movement in Penang. 7. Our 13K sq ft main center, Penang Science Cafe@Heritage, at the Wisma Yeap Chor Ee building in Georgetown was launched on 5th Dec'2015. The entire ground floor is provided rent-free to PSC by Penang Development Corporation. 8. PSC's generous sponsors enabled us to host 120 schools each year for full-day workshops at our science cafes. Sponsors donate RM1,500 per school to cover the transport, lunch and workshop expenses for 40 students accompanied by 4 teachers. 9. All donations are tax-exempted. 10. As a non-profit organization, we strive to keep our operational costs low. PSC seeks and welcomes companies to help us by sponsoring their services to PSC. 11. PSC welcomes companies and volunteers to help us help our next generation. We welcome collaboration with all parties as long as the primary beneficiaries are the young in Malaysia. 12. PSC values the partnership with MDEC, #mydigitalmaker, and JPN.
