In 2008 Qatar Reinsurance Company Limited was established by QIC Group and re-domiciled to our Bermudian headquarters in November 2015. Today, QatarRe is a global multi-line reinsurer and offers tailored reinsurance solutions to clients operating from our Bermuda and Zurich offices. We have a team of over 30 underwriting staff writing a mix of both short-tail and long-tail business. QatarRe also wholly own their subsidiaries which include QIC Europe Limited (QEL) and the Gibraltar Companies (Zenith Insurance Plc; Markerstudy Insurance Company Limited and St Julian'sInsurance Company Ltd). QIC Europe Limited (QEL) was established in 2014 and enabled us to enhance our product offering and operations across the European Union and EEA. QEL is based in Malta and provides niche insurance solutions for both established companies and entrepreneurial start-up ventures. Antares Managing Agency Limited was also acquired in 2014 and operates internationally through the Lloyd's platform in London and Singapore. The Lloyd's managing agency was formed in 2007 and underwrites for Syndicate 1274 as a highly diversified commercial and speciality lines insurer and reinsurer with over 62 underwriters across 17 lines of business.
