Qikely Avena

Productos Qikely was established in Cali Colombia, thanks to the wide experience acquired during years of working with a leading Oatmeal manufacturing company in Colombia and the amount of individuals who lost their jobs due to the administrative restructuring of said company, Mr. Tello visualized the opportunity of positioning the new company in the oatmeal based product market using excellent quality Oatmeal at a competitive price and in April of 1996 he created a limited society company and began building a plant to process Oatmeal in the city of Cali. At the same time as the Qikely brand name was positioned, packaging for third parties was offered and some of the most important Colombian supermarkets such as Almacenes La 14 S.A., with the brand name La 14, Almacenes Exito S.A. with their brands Exito, Makro Supermayoristas, Carulla Supermarketsand some of the Cajas de Compensación Familiar (Workman's Compensation Organizations) with their respective brands, were produced with excellent results. In 2006 thanks to the participation in the Expopyme program of Proexport (ProColombia, nowadays), new international markets were opened. Spain, Puerto Rico, United States, Panama and Peru where some of the markets where our products had been sold. Given our high standards of quality, safety and product development, important companies in Colombia have entrust us with the development and production of their food products. In March 2016, the company is invited to participate in the Valle del Cauca Export Consortia project, funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Tourism of Colombia (MinCIT). The main objective of this project is to improve the competitiveness and access to international markets of MSME with little or no experience. The Consortium Natural Exports Colombia, CONAEXPORT, is thus formed, whose main objective is to encourage and promote exports of healthy food companies of Valle del Cauca. In October 2016, the National Institute of Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima) certifies our plant in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in accordance with what is established in the current sanitary legislation.
