In 1973, Qualimet was founded as a welder testing facility in response to new Alberta legislation that required all welders of pressure equipment to be tested. From that client-centric beginning, Qualimet has grown into one of Western Canada's leading welding engineering companies. From the start, our goal has been to anticipate and meet the needs of a growing client base. Qualimet currently provides a full range of materials engineering services to industries throughout Western Canada and worldwide. Our commitment to providing top-quality service, year after year, is the reason that many clients have been with us since the 1970s. As we grow, we have taken on new clients from B.C., Saskatchewan, eastern Canada, the US, and worldwide. Over the years, Qualimet has expanded from two employees to thirty full-time employees. Staff qualifications include: a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering four Professional Engineers several Engineers in Training (EITs) Registered Engineering Technologists Certified Engineering Technologists CWB Level III Certified Inspectors CGSB Certified Technicians Qualimet's Professional Engineers are registered in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and BC. In 2011, Qualimet moved into a new 15,000 sq. ft. facility that includes a metallurgical lab, sample preparation and testing areas, and a 750 sq. ft. welder testing centre equipped with 10 all-new, bright and well-lit welder testing stations.
