Richard Paul Russell Limited is dedicated to the design and marketing of high quality electronics. Located on the south coast of England, overlooking the waters of the Solent, the company was formed in 1992 to provide a specialist instrument design service. Initially we were closely involved with instrumentation for racing yachts, with equipment designed by us being used on boats winning the America's Cup, round-the-world races and an Olympic gold medal. In 1994 work on the design of a new small hand-held anemometer lead to the Kestrel range of weather instruments. There are now many models in the Kestrel range which are sold world-wide. With the introduction of systems based on the WindSonic, a no moving parts wind speed and direction sensor, weather instrumentation has become a key focus for the company. In 2003 the ever increasing need to monitor the environment lead to the development of the SpaceLogger data logger which used Compact Flash cards for economical data storage. In 2007 this was superseded by the SpaceLogger-RS range which takes advantage of recent developments in flash memory card technology. The result is a smaller, higher capacity data logger at a lower cost. Our loggers have found many applications outside the environmental monitoring field, in particular in the medical device market where, for example, the record-keeping of washer and steriliser cycles is required.
