Rabbitohs

The Rabbitohs currently have the largest Membership base in the NRL and are the first club to hit the 25,000 Member mark this year. The Football Club would like to thank every single one of those 25,000 Members who have Stood Above the Rest, showing their support in the best possible way. Members today received a phone call from Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire as well as an email from CEO Shane Richardson, congratulating them on their fantastic efforts. "I could not be more proud of, or thankful to, our Members for getting behind this great Club and achieving such fantastic Membership results this season," Mr Richardson wrote. "To have broken through the 25,000 Member barrier for the first time in the Club's history is a testament to the passion and commitment that our Members have. "We have had our sights on the Broncos for the past few years, and we are proud to say that we are currently sitting ahead of them in terms of total Membership numbers. We have reclaimed the title of having the highest Membership base in the entire NRL and this is something that we should be very proud of! "It is important that we recognise every single one of the 25,000-plus Members who have committed to the club for 2013. You have made a massive difference every day through your support, and you are a representation of the joy and pride that has been restored to the Club. "We have over 25,000 Members who are cheering on the red and green each week, but we aren't going to stop there. We need you to encourage everyone who has been a Rabbitohs fan for years to become a Member and show allegiance to this great Club. "The team have really stepped up over the past couple of years under the leadership of Coach Michael Maguire, which has allowed our Members to experience some very memorable moments which will stay with them forever. "The players continually talk about how your support makes a massive difference to the their performance and that the passion in the stands helps drive them forward and gives them a boost every time they run onto the field. "I would like thank you for Standing Above the Rest and helping us achieve our target of 25,000 Members. Your fantastic support has not only led to our fantastic Membership numbers, but also to the financial stability and future success of our great Football Club. "Now let's keep going and aim for 26,000 and beyond. Let's keep building this Rabbitohs family!" Rabbitohs fullback Greg Inglis met with some Gold Members to celebrate this important milestone. Inglis can be seen in the photo above with five foundations Members as well as Corey Swan from Rabbitohs Membership sponsor Capital Training Institute, and Sarah Brady Head of Membership and Fan Development for the Rabbitohs. "It's a tremendous milestone to reach, 25,000 Members, and I know all the boys want to thank every Member for getting behind us this year and in previous years," Inglis said. "When we run out on to the field and see all of the red and green in the stands, it really spurs us on, and our Members are as much a part of the team as we are. "And it's not just the Members who can make it to the game. It's also the Members all around Australia and all around the world who get behind us by joining the Club as Members, and showing their support from everywhere, however they can. "One of the special things about this Club is the family environment, and the Members are a part of our family. "We're all in this together and we'll all celebrate whatever successes we have, both on and off the field, together. "We've hit our target of 25,000 Members, but we can't stop there. Let's make it 26,000 or 27,000 and really show everyone the level of support that's out there for South Sydney." Matt Sutherland, CEO Capital Training Institute, the official Membership Partner of the Rabbitohs, said: "The passion and support of Rabbitohs Members is second to none, the best in the NRL and was one of the most attractive things in signing on board as the Club's official Membership partner. "We had no doubts Members would stand above the rest and reach the 25,000 target set by the Club. "We are extremely proud that we are partnered with what we believe is the best Club in the NRL and most importantly to be able to align ourselves with the best Members in the NRL." A random selection of Rabbitohs Foundation Members will also be contacted later today to be invited to a special meet and greet with the team. So keep an eye on your phone and email - you may just be one of the lucky few selected! Thanks once again for the fantastic Membership support, the Club would not be where it is today without your help!
