In urdu, the word ‘rastah’ means path or journey. In fashion, Rastah represents a disruptive new force in luxury urban wear. Rastah is a premier South Asian artisanal urban wear brand that aims at de...contextualizing and reinterpreting south asian heritage and artisanship. The garment is an academic pursuit, the site where western silhouettes and traditional eastern motifs, contemporary art and Mughal miniature, stories of exodus, all are brought into conversation with each other. The garment is, like most things, political, and has profound regional and global consequences. While the inspiration is frequently transnational, each collection is imagined, sourced, and crafted in Pakistan. At Rastah, we may flirt with tradition but reject nostalgia. This collection is not an ode to the past, but a celebration of the complexities of the present. Working closely with artisans from some of the oldest practicing families in the country, we sustainably produce handmade, limited edition pieces for clients around the world.
