Rath
Rath Incorporated, with Sales Offices in Newark, Delaware and manufacturing plants in Newark, Delaware and Milledgeville, Georgia, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rath AG, based in Vienna, Austria. This fifth generation $100 million family-owned company had its origin in Krummussbaum, Austria, manufacturing refractory bricks and mortar. From its inception in 1891 through 1983, the Rath organization developed and produced refractory brick, castable and moldable refractory, as well as vacuum shaped products of alumina fiber. In 1986, Rath built a facility for the production of alumino silicate fiber in Mönchengladbach, Germany, and in 1989 began using a sol-gel process to produce alumina fiber capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1800°C. Rath currently has production facilites in Austria, Germany, Hungary, and the United States. In 1990, Rath AG established Rath Performance Fibers, the predecessor to Rath Incorporated in Wilmington, Delaware. Throughout the ensuing years, Rath established expertise in fiber applications in numerous industries throughout North America, providing the highest quality ceramic fiber products and engineered systems available. Since then, the Rath organization has applied its unique ceramic fiber technology around the globe and beyond in applications up to 3300°F (1800°C). Rath is committed to meeting the needs of customers through engineering excellence and unparalleled customer service. In 2002, Rath Advanced Materials, the predecessor to Rath Refractories, was established as the representative of the Rath Group focused on dense refractory applications. Concurrently, Rath Performance Fibers evolved into a business focused on a broader line of applications including dense refractories, resulting in a name change to Rath Incorporated in mid-2005 to better reflect its broader area of expertise. As US sales of dense refractories grew, a state of the art brick facility was built in Milledgeville, Georgia. Following this path of growth, in early 2007, Rath Incorporated relocated to Newark, Delaware, establishing a 30,000 SF state of the art manufacturing facility that includes Vacuum Forming, 5-axis and 3-axis CNC machining, fabrication, coating, drying, and manual machining capabilities. Rath Incorporated has grown to include Sales Offices in the United States and Canada, two manufacturing plants, and employ over 60 highly-valued and skilled technical associates in North America. Our continued growth, fueled by our employees, allows Rath to boast that we are the only refractory company in the world to have engineered, designed, and manufactured products in use on Mars.
