Rathwood is an award-winning family run department store and restaurant. Rathwood was established in 1994 in Rath, Tullow, County Carlow. n 1994 Patrick and Carmel Keogh transformed their 3,500 sq ft potato shed into a 10,000sq ft shopping emporium with 15 acres of land to show off furniture, gifts, gazebos, garden sheds, pots and plants. Rathwood is an Irish owned family run business. Our aim at Rathwood is to provide you with beautiful yet affordable items for your home. For over 20 years our team has been selecting quality furniture, garden products and special gifts for our loyal customers. Located just outside of Tullow on the border of Carlow and Wicklow, Rathwood is only 1 hour from Dublin. Rathwood started off employing 2 people in 1994 and are now employing over 70. The family have upgraded the shop several times over the years to improve and expand the business. 30,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space was added. External upgrades increased the parking area from 10,000 to 40,000 square feet, trebling the number of car parking spaces on offer to visitors. An animal park, forest walks, train rides and a children's play ground are some of the exciting and different activities that visitors can avail of when they visit Rathwood. A neighbour turned his hobby into a business and opened a Falconry and Birds of Prey Centre at Rathwood in 2009. In 2014 Rathwood opened their newest attraction - The Maze of Ireland. The maze consists of 2500 beech hedging woven together in the shape of Ireland and covers 1.2 acres. Recently we have started to sell items from our children's clothing collection online.
