Chartered in 1919 with four employees, RBI Corporation opened its doors committed to service. The company’s growth paralleled the automotive aftermarket growth and in 1946, RBI expanded into the budding small engine market. In 1980, the automotive division was sold and the corporation then dedicated 100% of its resources to the small engine and outdoor power industry. Now in its 54 th year of serving the outdoor power industry, RBI Corporation has grown to over 100 employees, 35 product lines and two divisions â€" RBI Corporation and Chesapeake Engine Distributors. In addition, Commonwealth Engine Distributors, located in Louisville, Kentucky, is a sister company.
