Regal Tip
Regal Tip has been dedicated to promoting music education since it's inception 50 years ago. In this spirit, Regal Tip and the New York State Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society joined together eight years ago to offer an annual scholarship to two New York chapter members. Congratulations to this year's winners, Christopher Clarino and Jonathan Singer. Both scholarships were presented at the PAS and Regal Tip at the annual P.A.S.I.C. convention that was held from Nov 8 - 11, 2007 in Austin, TX. Christopher Clarino is a Senior at Walkill Senior High School in Walkill, NY. His goal is to earn degrees in percussion performance and music education at a music conservatory. His awards include: 2005 Julliard Summer Percussion Seminar Alternate, 2005 Festivals of Music Outstanding Soloist Award on Jazz Vibraphone and 2005 Festivals of Music Outstanding Accompanist Award. Jonathan Singer is a student at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, SUNY in Flushing, NY. Jonathan's many awards include: winner of the1995, 1997 and 1999 Concert Competition at Blue Lakes Fine Arts Camp, Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Interlochen Arts Academy. Jonathan wishes to perform and educate in the percussive arts.
