Revelation PR
Brian Lee, APR, is the president of Revelation PR, Advertising & Social Media, an integrated communications agency he founded in January 2011, as well as a part-time lecturer on social media at Madison Area Technical College. InBusiness Magazine named Brian to its "40 Under 40" list in 2012, and PRSA-Madison named him its 2013 Communicator of the Year. His expertise has provided him opportunities to speak regularly on public relations, crisis communications, digital marketing and social media at conferences and to groups that have included the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, the SBDC, the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, the University of Wisconsin School of Journalism, several trade associations and five area colleges/universities. In 2015, Brian was selected for the State of Wisconsin's Business Intelligence Team (a part of Economic Gardening) as a digital marketing specialist who works with second-stage companies ($1 million-$50 million in annual revenue). Brian, who earned his Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2011, owns the distinct privilege of having served as president of both the PR group (Public Relations Society of America) and advertising group (Ad 2 Madison) in town. He also was president of the governing board for WSUM-FM and treasurer of the national executive board for Ad 2. Brian recently completed a two-year term on both the PRSA national board of directors and the PRSA Foundation national board of directors. Prior to agency life, Brian worked in sports PR for five years, including three years at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Beyond athletics, he has worked at the Wisconsin State Journal, UW Health and Wisconsin Public Television. Outside of Revelation, Brian is the editor-in-chief of Madison Startups, an online publication that covers startup news in town. He also runs EatDrinkMadison.com, a Madison, Wis., restaurant and bar guide that is searchable by amenities, and he hosted a restaurant TV show on the local CW affiliate called "Open Seating. Brian graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in journalism and major in strategic communications.
