Ridgeland School District 122 offers a full range of educational services for children beginning at three years of age. We fully believe every child can learn, and that they have the right to access public education. We also understand that some children may need additional support to successfully move forward with learning. Federal and State rules and regulations mandate that School District 122 offer support and services for all children that qualify under the umbrella of special education. If you have any concerns regarding your child's education or feel your child may have learning issues that impede his/her progress, please do not hesitate to ask for assistance. Please make your child's teacher and the building principal aware of your concerns. Each school in this district has a Problem Solving Team in place that will assist you with decisions regarding the need for additional educational support, emotional support, or assessment for your child. Ridgeland School District 122 has expert staff that is ready to assist you and your child. We are committed to serving children in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) to meet his/her individual needs. This school year, District 122 will be working to develop a Special Education Parent Advisory Committee. This committee will serve as support for parents as the move through the Special Education Process by facilitating guest speakers, support groups, and access to community outside services. Our Special Education Program continues to participate in the Focus Monitoring Process with the Illinois State Board of Education.
