Rio
The company was founded by Philip de Wit and Jan Willem Zeldenrust, two Dutch locals and journalists with a passion for biking and for telling stories about Rio. Philip arrived in Rio de Janeiro in 2008, after living three-and-half-a-years in New Delhi where he worked as a South Asia correspondent, covering countries like India, Afghanistan and Pakistan. After that he worked five years as a Brazil and Latin America correspondent. Nowadays, when he is not guiding bike tours, he works as a contributing writer for sport sites. Jan Willem first set foot on the shores of Guanabara Bay in Rio in 2011, after a three year stint in Barcelona. In this Spanish metropolis he worked as a bike tour guide, sportswriter and photographer. In Brazil, besides being a tour guide, he also works as a Brazil correspondent for a Dutch Press Agency, writing about sports, culture and travel. Together Philip and Jan Willem also wrote a Dutch business guide to Brazil. To find out what clients think of Rio by Bike, check out their reviews on Tripadvisor.
