Rising Sun Developing

At the end of 1997, Rising Sun Developing, Inc. (RSD) founded and incorporated. Jason Akers, Co-founder, started the company with co-founder and father, Jimmy Akers. With several years' experience between the two, the father and son team began building post offices for the federal government. Bonded and insured, the company has grown to 160 employees and has become one of the most competitive general contracting companies in the region. Bidding private and public work, RSD is a general contracting firm that specializes in concrete construction, general trades, and masonry. Its ability to self-perform much of its awarded work has helped make RSD the competitive construction business it is today.
