Robert Mackie
Robert Mackie of Scotland was established in 1845 in Stewarton in Ayrshire where bonnet (hat) making can be traced back for over 400 years. Even to-day Stewarton is still known as the "Bonnet Toun" but now Robert Mackie of Scotland is the only bonnet manufacturer remaining whereas in the 1700's nearly the whole town was involved. The Company operates from its 25000 sq ft site at Holm Mill where over 50 employees are based. To-day we manufacture the traditional Scottish bonnets (Balmorals and Glengarries) which have been supplied to Scottish regiments, bands and Clan Associations throughout the world for many years. In addition to the Balmorals and Glengarries we have our knitwear ranges of traditional Scottish styles and our latest fashion ranges. Many international retail outlets and designers are selling these products all over the world. With our extensive range of modern equipment combined with a highly skilled workforce we are able to produce a great variety of styles of hat, gloves and scarves. Our own designers have produced our new 2017 range but we also manufacture to our customers own designs. For further information please look further round our website or contact us.
