Route1 is an online marketplace for legal talent that was set up to effect positive change in hiring practices for lawyers : to introduce transparency, integrity and efficiency to the recruitment process. We are the fastest growing legal recruitment platform in the UK, representing over 200 legal employers, including six of the top ten leading law firms and over 8500 legally qualified candidates. We put employers and candidates directly in touch, based on job criteria set by candidates to enable more control of the hiring process for both parties. We also effect " blind hiring " techniques to avoid unfair bias in candidate selection. We are now proud to announce that we have adopted a charitable donation component to our hiring fee structure. From today, we are going to donate £1,000 to charity for every candidate who is referred onto the platform and is successfully placed. Traditional recruiters reward lawyers in cash for referring their friends and colleagues for jobs, using money garnered from fees paid by their employers! We want to change this referral dynamic - and the efficiency savings delivered by our platform mean we can afford to do this. Not only will we pass on some of our cost savings for charitable purposes - but we will also challenge the assumption that people will "trade" their friends and colleagues for monetary gain. Successful employers hiring through the Route1 platform can also elect to split this donation with a charity of their choice - which could be a pro bono client of theirs. Our charity partner is War Child UK , a specialist charity supporting children to recover from the trauma of conflict . As an introduction to our new charity partnership, War Child UK have offered us and our clients VIP invitations to an intimate Ed Sheeran concert that War Child UK have organized together with O2 on 19 February 2018 . Ticket sales launched today and will sell out! All proceeds will go directly to War Child UK's work providing protection and education to vulnerable children caught in war.
