Routes to Work South

Routes to Work South was established in 2005 by a partnership of DWP, Scottish Enterprise and South Lanarkshire Council and was born from the merger of two local community based organisations Prospects for Employment and The Workplace Initiative to deliver a range of services to help local people progress into sustainable employment. Routes to Work South was incorporated in 2011 as a single member organisation with South Lanarkshire Council as the sole partner. Routes to Work South is driven by the following overarching vision: "Routes to Work South is committed to working with partner agencies to deliver a flexible, accessible, client-centred service that will support local people who are out of work to progress and sustain employment, support local employers, and link opportunity and need". Committed to working with job ready clients and clients furthest removed from the labour market, the organisation successfully supports clients with a range of barriers to employment including substance misuse issues; mental ill health; lone parents or low income families; financial debt and advice; and clients with learning difficulties particularly those on the Autistic spectrum. Routes to Work South can assist people who have ASD and learning difficulties to break down the barriers and prepare for employment. With ongoing support from a dedicated Advisor, you will receive support to prepare you for and work in a paid work placement opportunity. We offer support with travel, on the job coaching and support to assist you in your journey to permanent employment.
