San Antonio Clubhouse

The San Antonio Clubhouse is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that follows the clubhouse recovery model, which is in-use at over 330 clubhouses through-out the world. The model contributes to the recovery of individuals with mental illnesses through an environment that provides rewarding volunteer opportunities. Individuals who participate in the Clubhouse are called "members. Fundamental elements of member participation include openness and choice in type of work activities, choice in staff, and a lifetime right of re-entry and access to all clubhouse services. The clubhouse does not perform "traditional" mental health activities, such as therapy. Our approach to mental health recovery is simple: to work with our members in whatever capacity they want to volunteer, and to help them reach their goals. We do this together as a clubhouse community, where members are free to work with other members or our support staff, as they choose. The San Antonio Clubhouse is open 8AM to 4PM, Monday through Friday, and is open to adults with a mental health diagnosis.
