Safefood
Safefood 360 is the food safety management software I always wanted! Since 1990, I have worked in many food processing plants as a technician, supervisor, manager, consultant and auditor and I've always been perplexed by the complete lack of IT solutions specifically for food safety management. While other management processes such as accounts, CRM, HRM, stock control etc. have benefited from advances in information technology - food safety management has remained the poor relation in the family! The high cost of enterprise software and lack of agreement on what exactly constitutes a food safety management system have played their part in delaying progress. But the world has moved on: faster broadband, advanced web/cloud technologies, and increasing agreement on food safety standards (i.e. GFSI) mean the time is now right for a revolutionary improvement in how we manage food safety. My partner in Safefood 360 is Philip Gillen an IT graduate from Dublin Institute of Technology and experienced IT consultant in the food sector. A number of years ago, while working on site with a common client, we discussed the idea of developing food safety management software that companies would want to use, that truly understood their pain and would be a complete solution. We haven't stopped discussing since and over the last 18 months we've built just such a product. Over this time we've put together a great team and will continue to develop and add to our talent. We've consulted widely with food technologists, managers, regulatory inspectors, certification auditors and food safety specialists. We've aligned SF360 with the requirements of global food standards. Why? To ensure we released a product that met the needs of the sector. It is a platform for food safety management around which a community can develop and problems can be solved. As food technologists and safety managers we understand the pain - we've worked in these jobs. We understand the pressures of maintaining paper-based systems and the never ending demands of compliance. As of last week, Safefood 360 is available to food plants globally. Internally we're building operational support systems to be able to deliver maximum benefits to our customers. Rich user guides, one click reporting and time-saving add-ons are all in the immediate pipeline. Today, we had the pleasure of demonstrating Safefood 360 to the post-graduates on the MSc in Food Safety Management at the Dublin Institute of Technology. These guys are the next generation of food safety professionals and our end-users. Their enthusiasm and positive feedback was great! Their valued suggestions and ideas for development have ensured our future product pipe-line will remain bulging for some time to come. Thanks guys - your input is appreciated. Again, welcome to Safefood 360. We look forward to working with you, your auditors and consultants.
