SALES DE JUJUY
Sales de Jujuy was founded in 2010 as the local operating company of the Salar de Olaroz joint venture project between industrial minerals company Orocobre Limited, Japanese trading company Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) and the Mining Company of the Argentina provincial government of Jujuy, Jujuy Energia y Mineria Sociedad del Estado (JEMSE). Sales de Jujuy began commercial production of primary lithium carbonate in December 2014 after the culmination of seven years of project planning, construction and commissioning. The current plant capacity is 17,500 metric tonnes of battery grade lithium carbonate, which is available to customers globally. Sales de Jujuy was founded and continues to operate on the ten principles of the sustainable development framework as developed by The International Council on Mining and Metals. The commitment to being a reliable and long-term lithium supplier extends into the sustainable business practices implemented within our operations. The company has an active and well-funded "Shared Value" program aimed at the sustainable long term health, education and development of the local people and businesses. The mutually beneficial partnerships fostered with the local communities and businesses in turn correlates to the on-going development and longevity of our projects.
