Provincial Archives
The Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan is the provincial agency responsible for acquiring, preserving and making available records of significance to the history of the Province of Saskatchewan. The Archives holds an extensive and diverse Permanent Collection of historical records which include public documents created by governments ranging from the Territorial period to modern day, as well as records from private citizens, businesses and institutions dating from the mid-19th century to recent times. Officially established in 1945 as the Saskatchewan Archives Board, the name of our institution changed to the Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan on August 24, 2015. Our Permanent Collection provides a unique source of information highlighting Saskatchewan's rich and varied history. The archival information on the site is regularly updated and added to improve and increase online access to the documentary memory of the province.
