Safari & Tourism Insurance Brokers (SATIB) goes back to the founding of Wildlife Broking Services in 1981 which resulted in some truly remarkable ground breaking insurance innovations being developed to cater for the intrinsic needs of this hitherto uncatered for sector. With wildlife being administered by game reserves and safari lodges it wasn't long before the needs in the tourism industry became apparent. SATIB was subsequently founded in 1992 as specialist/niche market insurance brokers and risk management consultants to the tourism, hospitality and wildlife industries. In 1995 Glenrand MIB Ltd, a Johannesburg Stock Exchange listed financial services group, acquired a controlling interest in our company. Being a subsidiary of Glenrand MIB provided access to intellectual capital and a large network of branch offices throughout Southern Africa. In October 2004, SATIB departed from Glenrand MIB by mutual agreement to take our independent place as leaders in the tourism insurance industry.
