Scan-Thor Group

Scan-Thor was founded by Mr. Knud Thor Larsen in 1979 in Copenhagen as an official Scandinavian buying office for the mail order companies 3Suisses from France and Wehkamp from the Netherlands. The main business was furniture and gift articles. In 1982 the close relationship between the OTTO Group in Germany and Scan-Thor was founded. The primary business with OTTO was gift and housekeeping articles. One year later the activities of fashion and textiles were started and Scan-Thor was nominated to be the official buying office in Scandinavia with full assortment for the OTTO Group worldwide. Today, the Scan-Thor Group is the biggest buying office in Europe - having buying offices and activities all over Europe. As a natural result of the success with the OTTO Group and in order to use the synergies between our different companies, businesses outside the OTTO Group were started. First with Twenty1 (wholesale furniture) in 2006 and then with the distribution of the denim brands Salsa, One Green Elephant and VOI Jeans on the Scandinavian market which started up in 2010.
