School Business Services Ltd (SBS) was founded in December 2007 and is jointly owned by two entrepreneurs; Tina Brown and Mark Tadman, both of whom have many years of experience in delivering business services into the education sector. Both owners are active Directors of the company and provide strong leadership to their ever growing workforce; working closely with the SBS Board and Management teams to ensure growth and quality of service for our customers, whilst keeping abreast of the ever changing world of education and the need for more future acquisitions and expansion of service offerings both in the UK and Internationally. SBS began with an initial workforce of approximately 20 people providing Finance, MIS & ICT services into schools. By the end of our first year of trading, we employed just over 30 staff and serviced some 80 schools across London and the South West. Since then, the majority of our business over the years has derived from word of mouth referral, which has resulted from the excellent reputation that we have for our professionalism, personalised approach and bespoke service offerings, delivered by highly trained and specialised teams. Our rapid expansion over the years has seen us grow to now employ over 90 staff and open offices in Poole, Milton Keynes, and more recently overseas in Dubai. The majority of our teams are field based as they spend most of their time on school site, either working on short term projects or longer term service commitments which include 'full school management support'. Our dedicated Service Desks are situated in our local offices and also offer remote services and support. In addition to our school support services, SBS has developed our own unique cloud-based business planning software for schools, SBS Online, which can be sold as a standalone license or included in our Finance & Business annual contracts. This ingenious software allows customers to complete financial planning and monitoring across 10 years, using SBS Online to plan new school projects, monitor existing school budgets and scenario plan for the future. SBS Online has multi-school functionality making budgeting easier for clusters and federations of schools and academies. We plan to continue developing this software to become the leading educational budget planning product in the world over the next few years! Since inception, SBS has also invested profits into helping and advising new start-up companies in the education sector, as well as becoming partners with other companies offering complementary services to ours, ensuring that we are capable of delivering a fully managed service offering for schools when required.
