Seiko provides state-of-the-art timing and measurement equipment, designed especially for athletics at the highest level, including false start detection systems, electronic distance measurement devices and transponder timing systems for both track and out-of-stadium races. At each IAAF event, Seiko's team of specialist timing engineers is present, delivering the precise and instantaneous timing data on which the sport depends. Our task is to measure greatness, and we are dedicated to delivering to the IAAF the very best timing service at each and every championship. Seiko have recorded some of the greatest ever athletics performances including, in 2009, Usain Bolt's spectacular 9.58s world record in the 100m. The devices Seiko uses in athletics are accurate to 1/1,000 of a second, which is ten times more accurate than is required by the IAAF rules.
