This is substantiated by our products and services that are deemed 'Japan's-first' and 'World's-first': In 1985, we were the first company in the world to successfully develop vacuum blood collection tubes made of commercially-viable plastic. We utilized PET, a particularly strong plastic, enabling the prevention of incidents of infection resulting from the damage of blood collection tubes within hospitals. These tubes also help to shorten test times and improve the testing system, and they are now used as a matter of course in hospitals and other institutions. In 2008, we developed Japan's first 'human gene genotyping kit'. It is highly rated as a product of great service in deciding on therapeutic strategies, since it makes it possible to predict the seriousness of the side effects when a particular anticancer drug is used. In 2013 we successfully commercialized micro-dosing in correspondence to drug development regulations, for which we received the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry Award in the 11th awards honoring Distinguished Service in Industry/Academic/Government Collaborations.
