Headquartered in Cookeville, TN, Service Transport is one of the 50 largest regional LTL carriers in the United States. A family-owned company founded in 1979, Service Transport grew to encompass a network including 10 contiguous Midwest and Southeastern states plus service to Southern California. The company has built a highly diversified customer base in a wide array of industries. In the December 2002 transaction, American Capital invested $37 million in the form of a bridge senior facility, senior secured subordinated notes, junior secured subordinated notes and preferred equity. With this financing, American Capital has invested over $1.5 billion in more than 70 companies since its 1997 IPO.
