Simons Foundation Autism Research Initiative
The Simons Foundation's mission is to advance the frontiers of research in mathematics and the basic sciences. It is a private foundation based in New York City, co-founded by Jim and Marilyn Simons in 1994. The foundation makes grants in four areas: mathematics and physical sciences, life sciences, autism research (SFARI) and education and outreach. In 2016 operations at the Flatiron Institute were begun.
