Shade & Wise was founded in 1949 as a building material supply house in the heart of the City of Richmond, Virginia. John Shade’s and Louis Wise’s business philosophy was founded on the principles of fair pricing, and above all, quality customer service. Over the ensuing years, the company has evolved from a small general-purpose building supply house to a major distributor of masonry products. Today, we are proud to say that each member of our sales team is a Certified Brick Specialist (certified by the Brick Industry Association), each of whom stands ready to promote the use of masonry and serve the masonry and architectural communities with their expertise. The company currently operates two locations to serve the masonry needs of the Richmond metropolitan market.
