Shetland Decommissioning
The Shetland Decommissioning markets and promotes the considerable experience, resources and adaptability of Lerwick to undertake onshore decommissioning projects and support related activities offshore. Working closely with our customers, we design and manage bespoke decommissioning project solutions off all sizes and types, (and also in various locations around hte North Sea region). Contracting companes Peterson and Veolia, individually and jointly, provide skills, services and infrastructure, complemented by local and specialist contractors, to carry out a wide range of contracts. Performing as a centre of excellence and delivering best industry practice is a core strategy. The location of the Shetland Islands means that Lerwick Harbour is strategically positioned for its key role in decommissioning a range of facilities from the North Sea and the Atlantic. Combine a track record of working with the offshore industry for around 40 years; recently increased deep-water access and berthing within the port; modern infrastructure and ongoing development, and Lerwick is at the forefront of decommissioning in north-west Europe. Planning for the future includes working with field operators and contractors on project engineering and feasibility studies, and further expansion of onshore infrastructure for decommissioning contracts.
