Shodecosa
Shodecosa was founded by Mr. Fritz Mevs Sr. in 1975. Having been an accomplished entrepreneur and businessman himself, he believed in Haiti's industrial potential. Throughout his 54-year career, with the support of his wife, Huguette Portes Mevs, he helped shape the country's agribusiness and manufacturing sectors by creating a line of diverse and successful enterprises. His reputation and continued success helped him establish longstanding and close partnerships with numerous leading international corporations, among them Ansaldo Energia, Total, Colgate-Palmolive, Cemex and ED & F Man. Today, Shodecosa and its affiliates are a testament to Mr. Mevs' vision, providing industrial and commercial facilities throughout the Park in Port au Prince, and ancillary facilities in other cities, such as Gonaives, located 80 kilometers to the north of the capital. The facility currently houses a variety of enterprises including manufacturing, logistics, food products and NGO aid relief offering space suited but not limited to traditional warehouse, storage and office needs. Reminiscent of Mr. Mevs' and his wife's vision that first begun 60 years ago, the Shodecosa venture has since been continuously finding new means of contributing to the creation of jobs in Haiti, providing entrepreneurs a turnkey set up to meet their needs in a timely and efficient manner. Mr. Mevs passed away in 2008, but his wife, children and grand children continue his legacy.
