Impressions In Glass was founded in 1992. We provide great value products for our customes and as a result have managed to develop a large client base. Please feel free to have a look around and contact us with any questions. Impressions In Glass is a family operation. My name is Barbara Garcia, I am assisted by my husband John and daughter Deborah Cartmill. I do all the design and actual glass 'work,' while my husband and daughter handle the backroom operations and keep me organized. I began my career in glass design by serving a two year apprenticeship in a full service glass shop, working under the direction of one of the leading glass designer's/restorer's in California. Several of my stained glass windows have been featured in homes in Carmel and Pebble Beach, California. I have studied all facets of glass design including lead and copper foil windows. However my passion lies in kiln art. I furthered my skills in this area through studies at San Jose State University. The majority of work currently coming out of Impressions In Glass is kiln fired glass. I design a variety of bowls, platters, vases, lapel pins and unique pieces of art. It is exciting each morning when I open the kiln. You are never quite sure whether the piece you spent all day working on is going to be a success or an interesting new concept.
