Shore School
Shore has always been committed to being a boarding school and its boarders are represented strongly, well beyond their proportion, in the academic, leadership and co-curricular life of the School. Boarding at Shore is enjoying a renewed boom with places being highly sought after for both full and weekly boarding across all Years. There has and continues to be impressive refurbishment of the School's four boarding houses and another positive recent development has been having the junior boarders start out in School House in their modern and friendly dormitories. This allows the boys to be together in Year 7 which assists them to forge strong friendships. In Year 8 boys will either remain in School House or move to either Barry, Hodges or Robson Houses. As a mark of the School's dedication to boarding and the Headmaster, Boarding Housemasters and Registrar have travelled extensively throughout New South Wales promoting our excellent boarding facilities, the structured routine and study times, the academic assistance and the awareness of the strong friendship bonds available to Shore boarders. In the past two years, functions have been hosted in Dubbo, Young, Newcastle, Mudgee, Bourke, Walcha, Quirindi and Cowra. At these gatherings Shore Boarding Housemasters, current parents, Old Boys including former boarders meet with prospective families, who are seeking either immediate or longer term enrolments. These promotions are not only informative with regards to the School's current and future developments but they ensure boarding will remain a vital part of the life of Shore well into in the future.
