However, the company only initiated its activity in 1952, becoming the first mechanical plant in the Aveiro District regarding the cordage sector. Its products were until then manufactured exclusively from natural fibers. In 1965, SICOR initiated the production of synthetic fibers. Currently, SICOR produces a wide range of products, using either synthetic or natural fibers. Among the manufactured products are cordage, agricultural twines, fishing nets and technical weavings. With over 60 years of experience and equipped with modern technology, the company includes 3 production units, two of them in Portugal and one in Brazil, occupying an area of more than 150,000 square meters. Its commercial activity is divided into five sectors: Agriculture; Navigation and Fishing; Industry; Retail; Sports and Leisure. SICOR is a company oriented towards the external market exporting, directly or indirectly, virtually all its production. SICOR e xports to 34 countries, with the main markets being Central Europe and the United States of America, both very demanding and highly competitive markets. The quality of its products and services allowed the company to significantly increase its turnover in the last 3 years. N ow is involved in an internationalization process focused on conquering new markets, and the factory in Brazil has a vital role in this strategy. Mission
