SHHCO is a family owned business currently under the reign of Mr. Kuan Ming On @ Steven the eldest son of the founder Mr. Kuan Kim Jock. SHHCO still operates as a Sole Proprietor today. SHHCO was established in the year 1967 in Brunei Darussalam originally operating as a tyre retreading business. After 40 years of trading as a local independent business in the private sector, SHHCO has gradually evolved out of the tyre retreading business and is now the sole distributor for global tyre brands: Michelin, BF Goodrich, and Nankang. In addition to its core business SHHCO also renowned for its expertise in Wheel Services (Wheel Alignment, Wheel Balancing, Undercarriage Wheel Repairs, and the like) with over 30 years of experience. Complimenting its core operations, SHHCO also has its division in automotive repairs and servicing predominantly catering for the continental car market. Recently over the last 3 years SHHCO expanded into premium automotive ancillaries such as Alloy Sport Rims, Lowered Suspensions, and other automotive parts and accessories. In February 2005, SHHCO established a sister company called Max Tyres and Rims Company where SHHCO was given the Sole Distributorship and Authorised Detailing Workshop in Brunei Darussalam for Meguiar's Car Care Products. Predominantly, SHHCO has always fostered a friendly and family oriented culture in its workplace. Since September 2005, SHHCO introduce a new management team to evolve its business from a family run business into a corporate management style. SHHCO currently operates out of 4 retail outlets in Bandar - Muara districts, a corporate head office in Kg Jangsak, and distributes to more than 5 major tyre dealers across Brunei Darussalam. SHHCO in its past years has developed a very strong alliance in the supply of tyres and services to the various Brunei Government Ministries such as The Land Transport Department, The Royal Brunei Police Force, The Ministry of Defence, The Ministry of Health, The Prime Ministers Office, and The Brunei Fire Brigade Department. Least but not last, SHHCO have successfully launched 2 National Road Safety Campaigns together with the above ministries which has gained huge publicity from the Brunei community. SHHCO also the first in Brunei in 2007 to launch its first Automotive Finance Package proudly supported by Brunei's local financial institution Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam offering its valued customers an alternative payment option to purchase quality assured automotive tyres and services. Some of the key strategic partners that SHHCO has developed over the years include major car dealerships like NBT Sdn Bhd (Toyota & Lexus), QAF Auto Sdn Bhd (BMW & Porsche), Jati Transport Sdn Bhd (Mercedes), major financial institutions like HSBC Brunei, Baiduri Bank Berhad, and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam. SHHCO prides itself being one of the oldest established tyre specialist company and in providing top-end products and services. In this aspect, our customers have grown accustomed to expect top-notched professionalism each and every time they drive in to any of our various branches. While SHHCO's pricing might not necessarily be the lowest in town, what we make up for is the value-added services, e.g. full warranty of products sold, attentiveness to customers needs and requirements, follow up visits or calls, more than compensate for the price differences. This line of service, we believe, is what gives us the edge over our competitors. Not only does SHHCO concern itself with outselling its competitors, we also do put out towards the general community and our strategic partners. These are in the forms of support for their activities like fund raising, roadshows or simply for the launching of a product.
