SiteSupra

Founded in 2001, SiteSupra was one of the first content management systems to support AJAX, before the term was even coined. The technology allowed website editors to manage page widgets in WYSIWYG mode, which became an instant success and a hallmark of the product. SiteSupra gained momentum as a great platform for creating corporate websites and business class web apps thanks to its unique visual interface, wide range of CMS features, a robust yet very flexible architecture, and a popular technology stack. Upon the release of SiteSupra 3.0 in 2003 the system was used by British Airways for numerous business-critical web projects worldwide. Both version 3.0 and 5.0 (released in 2007) were popular among European financial institutions including SEB, DNB, GE Money Bank and ABLV. SiteSupra is used by the governments of Latvia and Lithuania. SiteSupra has expanded into the consumer-oriented website builder market with the release of version 7 as a hosted version that allows regular computer users to build modern responsive websites. The latest version, SiteSupra 9, encompassing the best of the previous experiences, is released as a free and open source product.
