We are James and Samantha, a husband + wife team and the founders of Sittr. Founded in 2014, Sittr is a trusted service for parents and families which aims to simplify the search for a babysitter. Parents can instantly book and pay for a trusted, reliable babysitter using sittr.com or download our app for iPhone and Android. Like many, we don't have a village of support so we've personally felt the struggle to find care for our loved ones. Last year we sold our home and said goodbye to Australia for twelve months to explore the world with our 3 kids aged 5, 3 and 1. On the road, we were ordering a car or taxi service using an app and accessing reviews before booking a private apartment, but finding childcare was still a real pain point. And that's where Sittr was born. We felt that families deserve a better way to find child carers whether they are looking for a full time nanny, a casual babysitter or a night out while on holidays. So we started to build a product that we would be comfortable using ourselves. From then on we have received a high volume of positive feedback from families around Australia with additional interest from overseas based families that are holidaying in Australia.
