Skutt Catholic High School

Skutt Catholic High School is a sister school to the Diana Ortiz primary school in San Miguel Acactán (St. Michael Archangel), Guatemala. This relationship comes from an effort made by the Archdiocese of Omaha, who has adopted the Diocese of Huehuetenago (way-way-ten-ango), Guatemala as their 'sister' diocese. Our schools have been paired together for the past six years; the students, staff, and community from both schools have benefitted from this pairing. Diana Ortiz primary school is in danger of closing as a result of finances. It was set to be closed in the summer of 2011, but a few of the community members gave literally everything they had to the school. When the mission trip arrived 1 summer later, the situation had not improved, but the mission team was able to provide donations to keep things afloat. Tomorrow, (Fri. Nov. 30) the free dress day donations will be directed to IXIM in support of our sister school. Please consider giving a donation in this season of giving. The gift of Catholic education is something we should support and what better way to do that than with a gift to our sister school, Diana Ortiz primary school.
