Smallridge Bros

Smallridge Bros

Smallridge Brothers was established in 1977 when brothers David and Michael Smallridge started their Agricultural Engineering partnership. In the early years of the company which saw David (Bert) Shambrook join the team in 1979, Smallridge Bros were mostly involved in the repair of Agricultural machinery and equipment and the occasional sale of used tractors. Because of their attention to detail and after-care service the popularity of their quality used tractors and services grew to a position that many of their customers thought they were John Deere dealers. Their efforts were rewarded in 1990 when John Deere approached them with an offer of becoming an official franchise dealership. In 2011 the company spread its wings to Cornwall with a second depot at Callington, and in the summer of 2014 a third depot was acquired in Holsworthy which joined up the existing territories. Smallridge Bros now employs over 60 staff and covers a large part of Devon and Cornwall with the JD franchise, and has exclusivity with the franchises of many other brands over the whole of both counties. Despite the change the company has seen over recent years, Smallridge Brothers have not forgotten its roots and still recognises the importance of good service and backup. This is the bedrock on which the company has been built and is still the company's ethos 30 years later.
