Spengler Nathanson P.L.L
Spengler Nathanson has served the legal needs of individuals, companies and public agencies in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan for over 60 years. The firm was founded in 1947 as the successor to the firm of Brown, Hahn and Sanger, whose members included the Postmaster General of the United States and a former federal judge. Since its inception, the firm has played key roles in the area's political and business evolution, having been involved in the formation of key enterprises such as Seaway Food Town, Inc. and the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority. We continue to represent a broad spectrum of business clients - from small family firms to major corporations such as Fifth Third Bank and Owens-Illinois. We have also represented The University of Toledo, Owens Community College, the Metropolitan Park District of Toledo, the City of Toledo, the City of Perrysburg, Ottawa County, the Toledo Public Schools, Sylvania Public Schools, Springfield Local Public Schools, Washington Local Public Schools, the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority, Toledo/Lucas County Library, Sylvania Township and Springfield Township. We include among our non-profit clients pre-eminent organizations such as Mercy Health Partners, Northern Region, the Luther Home of Mercy, the Toledo Humane Society and the Cherry Street Mission. We are also recognized as having a strong trial practice in all Ohio state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Our civil litigators are routinely involved in cases concerning constitutional law, negligence, professional malpractice, product liability, employer/employee issues, and family matters. The firm has traditionally represented business entities and individuals for nationally-renowned insurance companies. Spengler Nathanson's tradition of commitment to the community continues. Six Spengler Nathanson attorneys have served as President of the Toledo Bar Association. Jim Jeffery was also elected President of the Ohio State Bar Association. Another partner, Tim Greenwood, served as State Representative and State Senator in the Ohio General Assembly. Two former partners are sitting federal (the Hon. David A. Katz) and common pleas (the Hon. James D. Jensen) judges. Our attorneys have served in leadership roles for the United Way, the Rotary Clubs of Toledo and Perrysburg, The Toledo Bar Foundation, on school boards and on countless charitable boards, such as the Child and Family Abuse Prevention Center, the Arthritis Foundation, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Toledo, St. Luke's Hospital and St. Vincent's Hospital. For over six decades, Spengler Nathanson has established itself as a law firm with high professional and ethical standards. We are dedicated to our clients and the judicial system which we have pledged to serve. Our attorneys are known to be reasonable yet aggressive when necessary; fair yet tough-minded when appropriate.
