Sonae Capital, SGPS, SA (Sonae Capital) informs that its subsidiary Integrum Colombo - Energia, SA (Integrum Colombo), wholly owned by Spred, SGPS, SA, is developing, in the course of an agreement signed with Sonae Sierra, a reconversion project turning the fuel oil cogeneration facility located in Colombo Shopping Centre, in Lisbon, into an Otto cycle gas cogeneration facility, integrated with a hot and cold water production facility, with an estimated investment of around 6 million euro. Under the current agreement, once the investment period is over, Integrum Colombo will be responsible for the management of the cogeneration facility for a period of 15 years, expected to start in January 2012 once the facility starts to operate. The gas cogeneration facility, with an installed electric power capacity of 6.6 MW, will generate, simultaneously, electric power (sold to the Portuguese Electrical System under the terms of existing legislation) and thermal energy (sold to Colombo Shopping Centre and to the Solinca Health Club located in the Shopping Centre). In a normal year, it is estimated that the production of electricity, sold to the Portuguese Electrical System, and thermal power will reach, in both cases, circa 32,000 MWh. This project was developed in the context of the Energy and Environment business, which was identified as a growth avenue within the business portfolio of Sonae Capital.
