SOQUIJ's mandate as set out in its incorporating statute is to promote research development in the field of legal information and the processing of legal data in order to improve its quality and accessibility. SOQUIJ reports to the Justice Department of Quebec and ensures its own financing through the online sale of its products and services. SOQUIJ also publishes the judgments of the Quebec courts on its website and makes them available to the public free of charge.
