We have proudly served farmers, homeowners and businesses with unparalleled service and equipment for over 40 years in Georgia and over 20 years in North Florida. We pride ourselves in serving our customers with honesty, quality work and friendly attitudes all with affordable prices. Our founder and president, Durie L. Cooper was a brick mason for a local contractor for many years. But in the early 1970's, the new construction housing market plummeted due to the high interest rates. With a new wife, he had to find work to support his wife and pay the bills. This is when he began painting and refurbishing tractors for local tractor companies in Cairo and the surrounding area. After a few years, he set a goal to open his own tractor store. In 1973, he opened his first store in Cairo, GA, carrying the Deutz tractor line. In May of 1974, South Georgia Tractor, Inc. was officially recognized as a legal corporation in the State of Georgia. But after a few years with Deutz, the company sold out and left the U.S. market completely. This is when we took on the White Farm Equipment line. This line did well for us until the early 80's up until the company filed bankruptcy. Once again, Mr. Durie was left trying to find a quality tractor line to offer his customers and community. That's when he was offered the Massey Ferguson line. South Georgia Tractor, Inc. became an official Massey Ferguson dealer in March of 1983. After ten years of selling Massey Ferguson, Mr. Durie decided he wanted to offer more options to his customers, community and surrounding areas. With this in mind, he brought in the Kubota line, and became a Kubota dealer on April 20, 1992. In 1994, after serving South Georgia for over 21 years, Mr. Durie was determined to expand into the North Florida market as well. S.G.T. Rentals and Sales opened on Mahan Drive that year. The new location would offer the same tractor lines, commitment and service that the Cairo location had built a reputation on. After five years on Mahan Drive, S.G.T. Rentals and Sales relocated to their current location, 4017 Woodville Hwy, Tallahassee, FL. The new facility was better equipped and offered customers more comfort. The Cairo store also moved to a new location, 1920 Hwy 84 E Cairo, GA, in 2005. We had been at our previous location for over 20 years and had out grown the facilities. In 2005, we also decided to become a Kubota dealer exclusively. Currently both locations are authorized Kubota dealers. We carry their full line of tractors, mowers, utility vehicles and implements. We also carry their full line of construction equipment. You can also find an array of shortline equipment such as Land Pride, Tuffline, Taylor Pittsburgh and others. In 2006, we became a Husqvarna dealer, stocking their hand held equipment line. Most recently, last year, we took on the Krone hay equipment line. Mr. Durie continues his work on the company today with the help of his daughters, Candice Eubanks and Wendy Norton. Ronald Sellers, who had worked with Mr. Durie in the early years, manages the Tallahassee location. Not only would we like to sell you your new equipment but remember us for your farm, lawn and construction equipment repairs too. Both of our locations are Kubota Certified repair facilities with top of the line service and technicians. Our technicians continue their education every year while attending Kubota Service School. We also pride ourselves in keeping a large variety of fast moving parts in stock. At any given time our locations will stock close to $200,000 in parts inventory. If we don't have what you need, we will, most of the time, have it within 2 days. We also stock after market tractor parts for different brands and industry standard applications. We have a fleet of rental equipment including, but not limited too, excavator, track loader, Ditch Witch, tractor with loader, cutter, box blade, tractor/loader/backhoe and more.
