Mount Sinai South Nassau

South Nassau, a nonprofit medical center and teaching hospital with 3,500 employees and 900 affiliated physicians, has operated as an independent, community-based hospital since 1928. It was one of the few remaining independently controlled hospitals on Long Island. South Nassau is a 2018 5-Star Recipient for Women's Care and Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award™ recipient by Healthgrades and is the only hospital in New York to receive the following five awards in 2018 from Healthgrades in women's health services lines: Five Star for C-Section Delivery, Five Star for Vaginal Delivery, Five Star for Gynecologic Procedures, Five-Star for Hysterectomy and the Gynecologic Surgery Excellence Award™.
