Spectrum Engineering was started in 1996 as a specification engineering company to perform engineering design of lighting systems and lighting controls, electrical systems, data systems, and other specialty low voltage wiring systems. Key projects have included the Canyon High School Complex, Amarillo ISD Zavala Middle School, Abilene Christian University Video Learning Lab, Cisco College Nursing School Addition, Eagle Aviation Maintenance Facility, Polk Street United Methodist Church Christian Life Center, St. Mary's Catholic Church Sanctuary, and Plains Dairy Receiving and Blow Mold Buildings. Key employees are Dan McCracken, PE and Master Electrician, BJ Simpson, electrical designer, Neishay Painter, drafter, Loc Trin, building information modeling specialist, and Noemy Wallace, customer service representative. We are closely allied with McCracken Electric electrical contracting. Spectrum Engineering has chosen to specialize in lighting design and control. Proper lighting design must satisfy important needs such as promoting productivity, improving marketing, providing high quality of life, enhancing the architecture of a building, promoting physical well being, providing safety and security, being efficient, and meeting budgets. LED lighting is a very controllable source, but is sometimes difficult to achieve reasonable cost payback. Proper control of LED lighting can significantly reduce payback periods. This also applies to the traditional lighting sources.
