The Fertility Center of California
Fertility Center of California (FCC) was established in 1980 as a semen bank serving physicians and their patients who required reproductive services, artificial insemination and sperm banking. Since 1993, with the help of Dr. Haval Ravin, FCC has been licensed as a clinical laboratory and has evolved into a more comprehensive reproductive laboratory assisting physicians and/or their patients. Our friendly and competent staff members have been highly complemented for their superior services. Dr. Haval I. Ravin functioned as the Scientific Director and President of FCC until the end of 2004. Dr. Ravin obtained his Bachelor of Science with honors from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) and received his Masters degree in Cytogenetics from the same university in 1983. Dr. Ravin obtained his Ph.D. from UNL in 1986, specializing in Genetics and Reproduction with emphasis on sperm function and gender pre-selection. Dr. Ravin was an active member of many professional organizations including the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) since 1986. Dr. Ravin was certified by AATB as a Reproductive Cryotechnology Specialist. Over the years, Dr. Ravin conducted research and published articles in the field of Human and Animal Reproduction. FCC's current President and Tissue Bank Scientific Director is Alan I. Ravin. Mr. Ravin has been certified by the AATB as Reproductive Cryotechnology Specialist since 1995 and by the Jones Institute as Clinical Embryologist since 2002.
