Solomon Schechter Day School

Solomon Schechter Day School is a remarkable school where our children learn, grow and flourish. Yet, we are more than just a school. We are also a community of families who support each other - whether to celebrate or to offer comfort during the significant transitions in our lives. When we perform acts of hesed, literally "loving kindness," we and our children are reminded that we belong to a generous, loving Schechter community. Acts of hesed are especially important in times of family need: the arrival of a new baby; occasions when an immediate family member is dealing with an illness, recuperating from surgery, or undergoing prolonged medical treatment; or, the death of a family member. Asking for help may be difficult; however, we all need help at some point in our lives. Others truly want to help. All help is provided privately and with discretion. Small and large acts of hesed are welcome.
