StellarNet

StellarNet Inc., is a privately held Florida corporation, established in January 1991 by Will Pierce, to pursue the development of process control instrumentation solutions. Prior to that time, Mr. Pierce had developed process control systems to test Ring Laser Gyros used for inertial guidance at Honeywell. In 1993 StellarNet Inc. was contracted by Ocean Optics, Inc. to jointly develop "the SpectraScope(tm)" software for the S1000 and PC1000 spectrometers. In 1994 Mr. Pierce developed the first truly portable spectrometer using the S1000 and NI-DAQ PCMCIA card for notebook computers (A2D digitizer card made by National Instruments). The new instrument was named the PS1000 portable spectrometer and was just 6 x 3.5 x .15 inches (smaller than your shoe). In 1995 StellarNet developed a spectrometer that connected to a computers printer port and had an integrated digitizer eliminating the need for the NI-DAQ card. Design features were introduced to enhance instrument stability and reliability. Because of modular electro-optic design, new instruments can be easily configured with a variety of detectors and optics. StellarNet Inc has received patents for its optical spectrographs. In 1998 StellarNet released its new 32 bit Win95/WinNT spectrometer operating software named SpectraWiz(tm) with associated process control and monitor applications. We are "Developing Intelligence from Light" to help solve today's life science applications for a brighter tomorrow.
