St. Johnsbury School
The St. Johnsbury School makes every effort to support all students in their educational experience. Our educational support system is geared to have several levels of support depending upon the student's needs. We have an Educational Support Team which works with parents and teachers to brainstorm ways to support a struggling student. Parents and teachers can ask for an EST meeting at anytime during the year to discuss concerns about a student. Students who qualify may access assistance through a 504 plan or an Individual Education Plan. The 504 plan is dictated by rules from the Office of Civil Rights while the Individual Education Plan comes from the Special Education Regulations for the State of Vermont.Parents are an integral part of the evaluation and planning process within these systems. This office also handles the Homeless Student needs, State-Placed students, identification of the birth to three year old children in need of services, evaluations of students attending private schools in our town and over sight of students in high school who fit any of the above categories. Our goal is to help all children achieve in their education, we can only meet this goal by working together to find ways to support the children in our community. Please do not hesitate to contact us any time you have concerns about your child. We look forward to working with you throughout your child's education.
